Eight shows wasn't enough. Metallica is adding six more dates to the Life Burns Faster residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, citing "unbelievable demand" for what is already the most anticipated metal event of 2026.

The exact dates for the six additional shows haven't been announced yet. What has been confirmed: fan club presale begins March 4. If you're a Fifth Member, that's your window. General on-sale details are expected to follow.
The original eight-show run spans four weekends in October 2026:
- October 1 & 3
- October 15 & 17
- October 22 & 24
- October 29 & 31
Every weekend follows the No Repeat Weekend format — two shows, two completely different setlists. That format defined the M72 world tour since 2023, and it's carrying over to the Sphere. With six more dates, that's potentially 14 unique setlists inside the most technologically advanced concert venue ever built.
Why This Matters
The Sphere isn't just another arena. It's a 17,600-seat immersive venue with the highest-resolution LED screen on the planet wrapping the entire interior. No metal band has ever played it. Metallica will be the first — and they're not doing a one-off. They're doing a full residency that keeps expanding.
Kirk Hammett has been publicly hyping the venue since 2025, telling The Hollywood Reporter: "That's using modern technology to the fullest, to really up the levels of production and entertainment."
When Metallica says they're going to push the production envelope, history says believe them.
