Hatebreed is headlining Summer Slaughter 2026. Third year in a row. When the tour relaunched in 2024 with Jamey Jasta at the top of the bill, it read as a reset — the festival finding its footing again after years away. Catch all summer 2026 tour announcements as lineups are confirmed. Now, with year three locked in, it's clearly something else. Jasta isn't just headlining. He's running the thing, and the lineups he's curating tell you exactly what he thinks Summer Slaughter is supposed to be.
This isn't a legacy booking where one band's name carries a bill of filler. The supporting lineup has weight. Devourment holds down the first eleven dates. Incantation takes the final five. Both are exactly the right bands for this package — long-running, uncompromising, foundational to the underground. If you've been paying attention to brutal death metal for any length of time, neither of those names requires explanation. If you haven't, this tour is as good an entry point as you're going to find in a club setting.
Rounding out the full lineup on all dates: Snuffed on Sight, Balmora, and Face Yourself. Five bands. No decoration.
Hatebreed is also coming in with new music. The band has confirmed a ninth studio album for 2026 — their first without longtime bassist Chris Beattie — and Jasta has indicated that new songs will be part of the Summer Slaughter set. That changes the calculation for people who've seen Hatebreed multiple times on this tour. The live show was already being described as stepped up. New material on top of that is a different night than what the last two years looked like.
This is also worth saying plainly: Hatebreed as a gateway to an extreme metal package tour makes more structural sense than most booking decisions in this genre. Jasta's catalog functions well as a closer — heavy enough to end a night that started with Devourment, but with enough accessibility that it doesn't alienate the wider draw that keeps a tour like this financially viable. Summer Slaughter lives in the space between underground credibility and above-ground attendance. Hatebreed at the top is not a compromise. It's a practical solution to a real tension.
The routing covers a solid cross-section of North American markets. The tour opens July 2 at Reverb in Reading, Pennsylvania, and runs through Virginia Beach, Worcester, Cincinnati, Nashville, New Orleans, Houston, Austin, Tulsa, Denver, Omaha, before the final stretch with Incantation — Saginaw, St. Louis, Fort Wayne, Toronto, and the July 24 closer at Town Ballroom in Buffalo, New York. The Chicago-area stop on July 17 is a festival set at The Rumble. Rock Fest in Cadott, WI on July 16 as well. Both are a different format than the club dates but count toward the full package.
The split between supporting configurations isn't arbitrary. Devourment on the first eleven dates and Incantation on the final five creates two distinct halves of the tour. If your market falls in the Devourment window, you're getting slam-influenced brutal death from a Dallas band that has been doing this since the early '90s. If you're in the Incantation window, you're getting old-school New York death metal from one of the genre's actual architects. Phil Fasciana's lineup has been making records since 1990. The chemistry between their set and a Hatebreed closer is different from what Devourment brings, and both versions of the tour are worth seeing.
A presale went live Wednesday March 25 at 2 p.m. EST with the code HBSLAUGHTER26, running through Thursday March 26 at 10 p.m. local. General on-sale begins Friday March 27 at 10 a.m. local time through Ticketmaster and venue box offices.
If you've been burned by waiting on this tour before, the presale window is already gone. General on-sale is your move now. For more festival coverage see Metal Mantra's festivals hub.
